Nintendo has had a weird thing for tools breaking recently
I don’t mind it too much yet in Animal Crossing as a tool breaking gives me a “eh I’ll do something else for a bit” vibe I’m okay with. But I’ve only been playing for a week so we’ll see what happens.
Breath of the Wild, though, constantly pausing to equip a new weapon every few hits really turned me away from it.
I think this is the main reason I can’t get into Animal Crossing. I want to play at MY speed, not Nintendo’s. I don’t like games that expect my to play them on their schedule.
I played a ton of the Gamecube one but got bored of the DS one pretty fast because it was the same thing. Even fifteen years later (checks the calendar and wow it has been that long) I still feel like it’s the same thing with a few things streamlined and a new thing or two added. Overall it’s the same game. BUT I’m currently in the mood for it right now at last and we’ll see how that goes.
