Blame Marketing.
Pure and simple fucked up naming things by the marketing department.
Also a bit of legal, as trademarks and all that.
Makes me wonder how many things I’ve mispronounced through the years.
At least you don’t have the Dutch language to worry about.
Our vowels are offset to English:
Dutch ‘a’ = English ‘?’
Dutch ‘e’ = English ‘a’
Dutch ‘i’ = English ‘e’
Dutch ‘ij’ = English ‘i’
It produces the most horrible pronunciations when a Dutch with out thinking, read English words up aloud.
