Call me crazy, but i sometimes i just don’t like that ‘fresh’ bit..
But that might just be me, for when i visited grandma and getting a cookie from a ‘tin cookie jar’ (a box actually). Half of the time those have been in that box for like weeks, and the spiced biscuit (speculaas) always had a bit of a stale taste. And i grew quite fond of my grandma’s cookies.. So much that even today i open a pack of cookies, toss it in a Tin box, apply label and depending on what type of cookie, some i will not touch for weeks.. I do clean up, and on occasion have to toss some away, but that just means i got bird food.. Currently the oldest i got, is Speculaas from 15th december (2020).
But i can see the appeal, as for my own cereal, i don’t like it mushy. Add milk and eat it instantly, no soaking.. (Don’t care if the box has been open for a week, as long as it has been closed properly).
