Sorry for the delay, in fact it took over eighteen years to get to this comic. Phil Likes Taco’s number 6000. That’s a lot of comics! As far as I can tell there’s only about a dozen or so webcomics who have made this many. This whole V.R.UDE story was all a setup for this comic. We have Doug being content with his life and a long time callback to Doug’s obsession with that Astrosmash game for the Intellivision. Oh yes, had to make that gag come back one more time.
Now for a fun piece of information to make you think about these six thousand comics – this is not the first time we’ve seen Doug had a bolted door in his main PC room. Oh no, I’ve been having that in the background these past eighteen years. So there’s something to wonder about.
So thanks for reading and thanks for continuing to read. And of course, a bid hearty PUNCH FOR ALL!

Congratulations on 6,000! I’ve enjoyed reading every one of them over the years. Always puts a smile on my face. Thanks.
Astrosmash – one of my all time favorites. That image really brings back memories, so thanks, Andrew and Doug.
I knew (hoped) Doug would beat V.R.UDE but enjoyed seeing it play out. And congrats on # 6,000! That really is a LOT of great comics. Hopefully we won’t have to wait for # 12,000 to find out what’s behind that padlocked door.
I am still waiting to find out about the Situation update on Dougs Basement.. And that has been 6 years already.
It is fine. Everything is fine. There is no need to ever go down there.
(Adds another deadbolt to the door)
What is there to say what i haven’t already said. hmm lets repeat this line.
“Keep up the work, we love it all!”
Now for some nostalgia: 20020913
I like how this webcomic has some of the biggest cliches of the time. The first and 100th comic talk to the audience. Straight man, crazy roommate, the girlfriend, even some zany leftover fridge monster. Heck the second gag in the comic is “lol original xbox controller big!” I’m glad it’s found its footing and own style since then!
God, that makes me want to start on that restoration I was doing on my Colecovision and Intellivision again. Nothing like references to ancient games to make you want to get them working again.
