That being said FFS NINTENDO STOP USING SMASH TO ADVERTISE
I saw that earlier. Brings up some good points but gets a bit to haughty for me whenever Smash is treated as this holy grail of all of video games. Personally, I was significantly more upset at Chrom’s inclusion than Byleth. “Oh boy, another character that pretty much plays like THREE others” I grumbled. That’s my problem with the FE characters is that half of them are the same. Robin is actually one of my favorites.
But in the end I get it. There’s a lot of characters people care about and would love to have in, so whenever a simple “character from new Nintendo game” gets in it can be heartbreaking. I can only imagine how mad I’d be if there wasn’t an Inkling in the game …
(still wish they’d add Callie and Marie as characters from Splatoon2 but I know that’s not going to happen heh)
