These people still get hired somehow at the place that I work. This one guy would never stay in his assigned department, wander off in the middle of stocking the shelves, and listened to music really obviously. He got fired after having a FORTY FIVE MINUTE shouting match with one of the managers right in front of the doors to the back room. It was the day I was working my department solo so I was in and out of said doors, and overheard enough to tell that it was because he had ALREADY been fired, and the manager wouldn’t move out of his way so he could walk into the back room and call his mom to pick him up. I don’t know his exact age but he was older than me, so at least mid-20’s

Poor phill, But hey who knows it might be just like a friend of mine. All showing up at Mell’s place..
She saw a ‘Assistant-Manager wanted’ at a department store and she applied. She got a email from the head office with a date & time for interview.
So when she showed up, the manager there knew nothing about it. So he called the Head-Office..
Apparently head-office wanted a New manager two towns over but didn’t wanted to let that Manager know he would be let go soon. And it placed those Manager wanted adds at all the nearest stores. Plus they scheduled all the interviews on his vacation.
Turns out about only a quarter showed up (saw the fine print in the email). She never went to the Second interview, She was looking for a job close at home. 8km (5mile) at 20 minutes was fine, not 40km (25mile) 1+ hour.
She is still looking..
Being an hour late seems to indicate total lack of interest in the job. Definitely not a good first impression – cross ’em off, Phil.
