Honestly the last three characters they revealed aren’t doing much for me, nor did many of the other reveals (besides Simon, that was excellent). I think it’s because this was built up as a next level kinda thing, then the last three characters we got were an echo fighter, another Pokemon rep out of left field, and another Mario rep from another ballpark entirely.
I got my Inklings to play as so I’m happy. The fact that there’s over SEVENTY more characters to play as is insane. And yet the one I’m the most excited for is … Piranha Plant because it’s so wonderfully weird and random and I love characters like that. They tried their best to tell people right away “I hope you’re not expecting too many more characters” but it didn’t work haha. Die hard smash fans are too crazy.
I’ll be honest I just wanted Shantae.
Would have been nice. Shovel Knight got to be an assist trophy which is amazing, just wish Shantae could have been too. But they’re also starting to have too many assist trophies! Maybe they need to divide them into two types – one with helpers that beat up enemies but can be knocked out, and the other with the big weird stuff.
