Sorry, but I’m a bit irritated by this storyline. Food safety laws or not, a restaurant (especially a respected one like this) wouldn’t immediately let everything go terrible like that, and even if they did for whatever reason, they wouldn’t be HAPPY about it like that manager was. Restaurants still want to keep customers after all, and thrive on repeat business; no restaurant would harm their reputation this way just because they can LEGALLY get away with it. That’s not how businesses work.

I feel like it’s an extremely contrived situation created just to paint Norvell as an idiot, but we already KNOW he’s an idiot. There’s no need to go to these extreme lengths, far more extreme than reality allows, just to add to it.

I’m not going after Norvell in this story. No, we all know fully well how much of an idiot he is. I’m after the people in the restaurant, the ones who thought getting rid of food safety laws is totally worth it for all the money they’re going to save and pass on to the customers. There’s more to the story, so hopefully it goes as planned by the end.
